DLACZEGO Mixed media on unprimed canvas Her name was Czeslawa Kwoka. She was fourteen when the Germans invaded Poland early in WW ll. The soldiers seized all of her family and took them away from their farm. Czeslawa and her mother were brought to Auschwitz. Shortly after her mother was killed, Czeslawa, beaten, terrified and unable to understand the German language, also was killed by an injection of phenol directly into her heart.
